Emeka Awa Ogwo – Head of Chambers / Managing Partner

Emeka has a robust background in the practice of law, with over 10 years in Business, Arbitration, Finance and Corporate Services. Emeka attended the University of Jos where he obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B) and the Nigerian Law School. He was for several years a key member in the law firm of Dickson D.I. Osuala & Co. a foremost litigation firm in Nigeria.

Emeka later moved to AINA, BLANKSON & Co., where he coordinated the Dispute Resolution Group, was a key player in the development of the Energy and Environment Group, while also a member of the Corporate Commercial Group, with varied responsibilities ranging from client representation and advice on oil and gas transactions to business development and negotiation particularly in the banking sector.

He led the team that successfully negotiated and implemented a joint venture agreement for the servicing of the operation of a marginal oil field. He also led negotiation on complex debt/equity restructuring for an energy company from deal terms to final documentation. He is also involved in the management of syndicated investments. He led the project team conducting Legal due diligence during the consolidation process that led to the emergence of 3 leading banks in Nigeria.
